Wee Scoops

Measure for Measure

Solfa Haikus

My woes are slapped out
Forehead percussion’s lament
We knead it for bread.

A flatfish can sting.
The sun beams invisibly.
Excellent driver.

Ego’s name, myself-
It’s the face in the mirror:
Narcissus’ lover.

Distant lands await
We won’t be travelling near
When we see the star.

Well, like, after that-
I mean, the consequences
Will be embroidered.

Singalong with me,
We are lyrically free,
In a mad, mad land.

Confused? Have a cup
Of a gentle infusion
A flood of flavour.

That will bring us back:
We’ve scaled the tonic ladder
We have jumped a step.

Took me a while to figure out what you’d done there. Too clever for me at this time of the morning. Very good.
