Who is the watcher? Great skies! Is this Scotland?
That’s my son, when he was about five, I think – at the local windfarm.
No matter how hard I try I can’t get a picture of a turbine that has any sense of the scale. They are HUGE.
Oh, don’t I know! We see them carried down the highways, here, from time to time.
Over here, truckers must have a special escort to carry oversized freight. Usually, this means things that are wider than the lanes of the highway, but in this case, we see ONE PROPELLER, loaded onto a tractor/trailer rig, and escorted down the highway, because ONE PROPELLER is so huge that it qualifies for an oversized load. Invariably, two more rigs with two more escorts trail behind, carrying the other two propellers. Amazing.
It is an awe-inspiring sight, for sure.
And isn’t it grand to harness the wind!
interestingly, in this last week, i have seen, on 3 separate days, 3 separate lorries each day with one propeler on board with their police and escort trucks making their way down the m77 (or is it up)… guess they’re building more onto the wind farm…
Definitely a Scottish sky…
Can I just say what a joy it is to see definitely spelt correctly. Always lifts my day.
What! You don’t like a defiantly Scottish sky? Huh.
To let you into my secret… I have a Mac and it spell checks every text box, not just in Word, or whatever. But I think I would have spelt that correctly anyway. (Although my Mac is telling me that ‘spelt’ is incorrectly spelled, but hey)
Spelt is correct scots 😉
