Postaday 2011: Green Tomatoes, Anyone?
That would scare me – if a fictional character came to life. That’s when I know I am reading a good book – when I am scared to get out of bed and go to the toilet – just in case I meet one of the characters in the hallway. But how likely is that?
My day for my characters would have to take place in Whistlestop. Ruth and Idgie would serve me some of Onzell’s fried green tomatoes. Patty from would come by and I’d tell her that Anton really loved her – and would have married her, had he lived. Gilbert and Anne Blythe would drop in for some raspberry cordial – Gilbert doubtless looking “very robust”.
I’d sit all afternoon with Anne, Gilbert, Patty, Ruth and Idgie and discuss true love.
